Thank! I have created a new branch called fm/file-operations that
include your previous fdatasync branch and this one, since it will
be easier for us to review and graduate both changes together.
This branch will be included in the 'pu' branch.

Looks reasonable to me. Someone else in the Erlang/OTP team will
review the branch and decide whether to graduate it.
