I have applied your patches and built it on Mac OS 10.5.5 with
--enable-hipe. It builds fine. I also compiled
and run a small test program with the 'native' option.

Mikael, is it OK to include the patch of hipe_x86_signal.c in the
development branch for R12B-5?
