[erlang-bugs] R16 build error: syntax error before: '¿'

HiPE seems to have problem compiling erl_scan. Probably due to utf8
enhancements.
I don't have access to daily builds right now, but I think this passes on
our build servers (or it has gone unnoticed due to massive test data
overload).
I do get stalls when compiling erlc +native erl_scan.erl on my mac at home
though. Something bad is going on.
