I should have also mentioned that the reproduction method described in
https://github.com/basho/riak_pipe/issues/49 using a live Riak node
and basho_bench does not require PULSE. It's not as pure, and the
error is just log output instead of a nice test-halting flag, but it
does hit the issue more often than the simple test I submitted earlier
does (at least on the machine I've been using).
