On a machine with a minimal installation of Debian, I've discovered that 
the 'diameter' application requires the presence of the 'ed' program to 
create/modify the 'diameter.app' file, but the configure script does not 
check whether 'ed' is installed.  As a result, making the system fails 
miserably.

This is on R14B04, but I suspect the same happens on R15.
