My Erlang is also built with --enable-smp-support option enabled. I've
forgotten to mention it in my bug-report.

It looks like you've found the key to reproduce it. Thanks! That is
what I've been looking for during the last two days.

There is one interesting things to note: yesterday, I reproduced this
bug by issuing "erl -sname bilbo -setcookie abc". But I have to say,
that it's much easer to hang system using loop.sh/escript.erl.
